2018 Latest news –  Ruby now has amassed 21 CCs , 15 with Best of Breed, and 6 RCCs.

October 2018 Ruby wins the RCC at Midland Counties following her CC and best of breed at Richmond and Bournemouth Championship shows.  

Ruby wins the bitch CC and goes Best of Breed at Border Union championship show under gundog specialist L Townsend.   This is the third consecutive year she has been awarded both titles.  She also has 6 RCCs.

Three Counties Championship Show sees Ruby awarded the RCC.  At WELKS Ruby is Best Bitch and Best Opposite Sex

At the HWVA championship show Ruby is awarded the Bitch CC and Best in Show by breed specialist Sandra Marshall.   She now has a record  18 CCs , 12 with Best of breed and 4 RCCs .

Ruby misses Crufts to have her one and only litter.  She then returns to the showring and wins Best in Show at the HWV Club of Great Britain’s show 2018 under gundog specialist Becky Johnson.

Ruby is top HWV bitch for the third consecutive year and sets a bitch record with 17 CCs (11 with Best of Breed) and 4 RCCs.  She is top HWV bitch for the third consecutive year

    

In November 2016 Sh Ch Morganna Star Anise JW ShCM makes history by becoming the the first full champion in the breed.  She is awarded her working qualification to become a full Champion at the BSWWGS novice field trial.  In January 2017 she gains her Working Gundog Certificate on live game. In February at her first grouse pointing test she is graded ‘good’.  I am so proud of her.  Brains and beauty.  She has 17 CCs (11 with Best of Breed) , 4 RCCs –  and is the top winning HWV 2016.  She is the breed’s first and only full champion.

*Only full champion in the breed and was the youngest HWV show champion to date. She is the first HWV to have a Junior Warrant and Show Certificate of Merit.

Grouse Pointing

Here’s Ruby on the grouse moors.  This is only the second time she’s been on grouse and here you can see she’s getting to grips with it.   The bird is some distance away but she’s pointed it and is now  hunting it to flush it. She should sit to flush but is so excited after such a long hunt ….. Click on the link below to see the video..

Show news 2017

January – Ruby wins Best of Breed under gundog specialist Jean Byrne at Manchester ch show.  She is then shortlisted in the group by Liz Cartledge.

Crufts 2017 – Ruby is awarded the Reserve CC under Peter Harper.

In March Ruby wins Best in Show at the Bootle, Crosby and South Liverpool CS open show under specialist Professor David Brigden.

April at the HWVA championship show Ruby wins her 12th CC and goes reserve best in show and best opposite sex under John Thirlwell.

At The National in May Ruby wins her 13th CC and BOB under breed specialist Richard Stafford JP. This is the third consecutive year she has won both these awards at The National.

At Three Counties championship show Ruby wins her third reserve CC.

Border Union sees Ruby take the bitch CC and Best of Breed under Dr Ronald James.

Bournemouth ch show – Ruby is awarded her fourth RCC.

Richmond ch show – Ruby is awarded the bitch CC by breed specialist Penny Williams. This gives Ruby her 15th CC.

Darlington ch show sees Keeley Newman-Jones awards Ruby the CC and BOB. This is her 16th CC.

At Driffield ch show Ruby is Best Bitch

Midland Counties at the end of October and Ruby wins her 17th CC under gundog specialist Tom Graham.

Wins 2016

January – Best of Breed at Boston and Manchester Championship shows.

May- after a two month break from showing Ruby returns – winning the bitch CC and Best of Breed at The National under Gillian Pearson then to top it all gundog group three under Penny Williams. So thrilled!

June 2016 – At Three Counties Ruby wins the bitch challenge certificate – her sixth. Thanks to breed specialist Chris Guest.

June -At Southern Counties in June Ruby wins Best of breed under breed specialist Dr Suchett- Kaye.

June -At Border Union Ruby wins her 7th CC and Best of Breed under gundog specialist Jacqui Ward.  

July – Ruby wins the CC at Windsor under breed specialist Rachel Thompson.

July – Ruby wins best in Show at Dukeries Gundog Show. Thanks to  breed judge Helen Upton and BIS judge Lesley Trow.

July – at Leeds championship show Ruby wins Best of Breed under Richard Morris.

 September – at Darlington championship show Ruby wins the CC and Best of Breed under breed specialist Sara Barnard.  

October – Gundog Society of Wales sees Ruby go Best of Breed under Colin Woodward and shortlisted for Best in Show under Gordon Haran

At Midland Counties ch show she wins the Bitch CC and BOB under Val Foss. This gives Ruby her 10th CC – a record for a HWV bitch.

December – she  finishes the year in style and wins her 11th CC and BOB under Christine McDonald. This is another record for a bitch.

Wins 2015

In September 2015 she becomes the breed’s  youngest show champion by winning the bitch CC and Best of Breed under G Haran at Darlington Championship Show.  She is the only HWV show champion to have a Junior Warrant and Show Certificate of Merit. I am very proud of this young lady who has achieved so much at just seventeen months of age.  

April – At the HWVA championship show Ruby wins the Reserve Challenge Certificate and Reserve Best in Show at just 12 months old. Thank you to breed specialist Sharon Pinkerton. 

The next weekend she takes Best Bitch and Best of breed at WELKS championship show.  Thanks to breed specialist Keeley Newman-Jones.

May – At Birmingham National championship show at just 13 months old Ruby wins the Bitch Challenge Certificate and then Best of Breed under gundog specialist David Alcorn.  She is shortlisted in the last eight of the gundog Group under Hungarian specialist Tamas Jakkel.

June- aged 14 months old she wins the Bitch CC at Three Counties Championship show under gundog specialist Carole Coode.

July – At Dukeries Gundog Club she goes Best of Breed under D Wearing then Best in Show group 3 under D Hodgkinson.

July – she is awarded Best of Breed at East of England championship show under P Butler-Holley.

July – Best of Breed and  Reserve Best in Show at Crowle Agricultural Society’s open show giving her the last point needed for her Junior Warrant.

Ruby wins Reserve Best in Show at the HWVA open show. This win gives her the final points for her Show Certificate of Merit.

 Sept – CC and Best of breed under gundog specialist Gordon Haran. This is a very special day as it gives her the show champion title.

December – She finishes off 2015 with her fourth CC and Best of Breed at LKA under breed specialist E Newton.

 

Ruby is awarded the HWVA and HWVCGB”s Top Puppy 2014-15 in five months’ showing. She finishes her puppy career in style by winning Best Puppy in Breed Crufts 2015 under breed specialist D Smillie-Grey then finishes her puppy career with BP, BOB and Puppy Group 1 at Retford.

Ruby winning Best Puppy in Show at the HPRGA under Sue Harris. She is seven months old here.

Ruby is named after her grandmother. She is by Sh Ch Helinga Herveus x Morganna Allspice.  As you can see she loves water and was swimming at ten weeks. She enjoys retrieving and has a good, harsh coat. I was delighted she won Best Puppy and puppy group 4 at her first championship show at just six months. A week later she won minor puppy, puppy and Best puppy at Midland Counties championship show.  In November 2014 at seven months old she won Best Puppy in Show at the HPRGA show under gundog specialist Sue Harris. Following in her mother’s footsteps! Her next show was Oakengates CS which resulted in Best Puppy under breed specialist Tim Branney then puppy Group 2 under D Craig.

At LKA Championship Show she wins Minor Puppy, Puppy and best bitch puppy.  Thank you breed specialist Ilex Whiting. At Boston ch show she again wins best puppy.  At Dukeries Gundog she goes best puppy and best of breed under breed specialist Leslie Trowe.

In January 2015 at nine months she won puppy and Best Puppy in Breed under Jill Peak at Boston championship show then went one better at Manchester Championship Show where gundog specialist judge Per Iverson gave her Best Puppy, Best Bitch and Best of Breed in an entry of 42 HWVs.  She was then shortlisted for Best Puppy in the Gundog Group.

At Coalville DCS she wins best puppy and reserve best of breed. At Stoke on Trent Gundog she wins best Puppy, Best of Breed and Reserve Best in Show and Reserve best Puppy in Show. At Wath and West Melton she wins Best Puppy, Reserve best of breed and then wins the Puppy Gundog Group. At Newark CS she wins AVNSC puppy then goes on to Gundog Puppy Group 3 under gundog specialist Richard Stafford.
